Kelly Hynes McDermott, Founder and Director of Hynes Communications, has over fifteen years of experience in Marketing, Public Relations and Special Events. Kelly began her career as a Public Relations Executive for both Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale's in Boston. She caught the branding bug early in building brand awareness, media relations and marketing programs through the lens of fashion and philanthropy. “I believe that the most beloved brands are the ones that are purpose driven and make an impact.”

She took a hiatus to raise her three children and then set out on her own soon after the kids were launched. Keeping her love for fashion, she transitioned back into the professional world as a wardrobe stylist. She grew her business from being a wardrobe stylist for models in national advertising campaigns to leading image consulting seminars for professionals and executives at Fortune 500 companies throughout New England. Kelly worked with such global brands as American Express, AT&T, and PwC to name a few.

After nine years as a stylist, she missed her Marketing and PR roots, so she launched her own communications company, Hynes Communications. Hynes Communications’ clients are innovative leaders who are successful in their respective industries. They are C-Suite leaders in retail, healthcare, fitness, hospitality, food, professional services, and the non-profit sectors. Kelly particularly thrives working with small to mid-size companies to help sharpen their brand identity and grow their business. Kelly has strong Boston roots and is passionate about helping businesses excel by actively listening, creating and executing marketing solutions, developing meaningful business relationships and being part of a successful team.

When she's not working with clients, you'll find Kelly spending time with family and friends , playing tennis, practicing yoga, learning how to golf, reading, and spending time on the Cape. Kelly serves on several boards including Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, Communities for People, and Needham Bank. She thrives on new challenges at work or play.
